"I don't teach yoga. I hold space for people to remember what they already know— that they are whole, that they are capable, that peace is not something to achieve but something to return to."
My Story
I didn't come to yoga seeking peace. I came running from chaos—a decade in corporate consulting, burnout that left me unable to recognize myself, and a body that had become a stranger.
My first yoga class was in a gym, sandwiched between a spin class and a HIIT session. It was fast, loud, competitive. I was terrible at it. But something cracked open.
I spent the next seven years training, studying, unlearning. I sat with teachers in India who taught me that yoga has nothing to do with touching your toes. I studied the philosophy that reveals why we suffer and how we might not. I learned that the poses are just the beginning—doorways to something much larger.
I opened The Path of Self Motivation because I couldn't find what I needed anywhere else: a space that took yoga seriously as a practice of transformation, not just exercise. A place where people could slow down in a world that rewards speed. A sanctuary.
This studio is not a business to me. It's an offering. Every class I teach is an invitation to remember: you already have everything you need.
Teaching Philosophy
The body knows
I don't teach alignment as if there's one right way. I teach listening—helping you hear what your body is telling you, and trusting that wisdom. Your practice will look different from everyone else's, and that's exactly right.
Slow is the way
We live in a world that glorifies speed and productivity. My classes are deliberately slow. Not because slow is gentle (though it can be), but because slowness reveals what speed hides. You cannot bypass the work. You can only rush past it.
Integration over achievement
I'm not interested in helping you achieve impressive poses. I'm interested in helping you integrate what you practice on the mat into how you live your life. A headstand means nothing if you still can't be present with yourself.
Presence is the practice
Everything we do in class is designed to bring you into the present moment. The poses, the breath work, the meditation—they're all tools for the same thing: arriving here, now, fully. That's the practice. That's always been the practice.
