Common Questions
We've gathered answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, please reach out.
Getting Started
Absolutely. Many of our students began with no prior experience. We offer classes for all levels, and our teachers are skilled at offering modifications. You don't need to be flexible, strong, or calm. You just need to show up as you are.
Just yourself and an open mind. We provide mats, blocks, straps, blankets, and bolsters. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in—nothing fancy required. We recommend avoiding eating a heavy meal for 2-3 hours before class.
We suggest arriving 10-15 minutes before your first class. This gives you time to check in, put your belongings away, and settle onto your mat without feeling rushed. For subsequent visits, 5 minutes early is usually enough.
Please let your teacher know before class begins. Our instructors are trained to offer modifications and alternatives. Yoga meets you where you are—there's no pose you "have" to do. Listen to your body; it knows what it needs.
Classes & Practice
We approach yoga as a practice of inner transformation, not fitness. Our classes are deliberately slower, with emphasis on breath, awareness, and integration. We don't play loud music or treat yoga like a workout. If you're looking for hot yoga or high-intensity flow, we may not be the right fit—and that's okay.
All our regular classes welcome all levels. "Morning Stillness" and "Evening Unwind" are particularly gentle. "Flowing Strength" has more movement. "Deep Rest" is purely restorative. If you're unsure, start with any class that fits your schedule—your teacher will guide you.
Yes. Private sessions allow for personalized attention to your specific needs, whether you're recovering from injury, working through a challenging time, or simply want deeper one-on-one guidance. Contact us to schedule.
Life happens. Please cancel at least 2 hours before class so we can offer your spot to someone else. Excessive no-shows may affect your booking privileges, but we understand that sometimes things come up unexpectedly.
Membership & Pricing
We offer drop-in classes ($25), monthly membership with unlimited classes ($120/month), and annual commitment ($1,200/year—two months free). There's no pressure to commit—many people try a few drop-in classes before deciding.
Monthly members can pause for up to 30 days at a time. Life has seasons, and we respect that. Simply let us know before your next billing date.
You can cancel anytime with no penalty. For monthly memberships, cancel before your next billing date. For annual members, we don't offer refunds, but you're welcome to use your remaining time and we can discuss options.
We believe yoga should be accessible to everyone. If cost is a barrier, please reach out privately. We have a limited number of scholarship spots and work-trade opportunities. The practice is more important than the payment.
The Studio & Community
Free street parking is available around the studio. There's also a small lot behind the building with 6 spaces available first-come, first-served. We're also accessible by public transit.
Yes! We offer seasonal gatherings, workshops, and special events throughout the year. All members receive invitations, and many events are open to the broader community. These are opportunities to deepen practice and connect with others on similar paths.
We maintain a contemplative atmosphere. While we're not silent, we encourage soft voices and mindful presence. There's no loud music, no chatty atmosphere, and no phones in the practice space. Think of it as a sanctuary—a place to unplug.
Currently, our offerings are for adults only. We may introduce family-friendly classes in the future. If this is something you'd be interested in, let us know—your feedback shapes what we offer.
